Volunteer Opportunities

2012 Garden Internship: 

Stonewall Farm is looking for self-motivated people to commit to part or all of the entire 2012 growing season. As a garden intern you will learn organic growing methodology from greenhouse to harvest, how to run a farm stand and small CSA. 

Educational Opportunities will also include a weekly field walk and the potential to attend the NOFA summer conference. In return, you will be provided weekly with vegetables and one dozen eggs.

Dairy Internship:

Dairy Internships are available throughout the year. We have a 30 head organic dairy and are an Organic Valley Co-op Member. Learn about our breeding program, pasture rotation, composting and much more.

Other Volunteer Opportunities:
We are currently recruiting volunteers to help out at the farm! We are seeking individuals interested in helping out. Volunteers typically commit to a minimum of 1 hour per week, and all volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. For  examples of ways to volunteer, see our list below.  If you are interested in becoming part of our Farm family, please contact us at (603)357-7278.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Product bottling or labelinh (yogurt, cheese, ice cream)
  • Small animal care (goats, sheep, llama, chickens, ducks)
  • Public area maintenance (fold and replenish brochures, signs, cleaning)
  • Local marketing (districute posters and brochures to local businesses)
  • Assist with major events (farm Fare, Dancing of the Ladies, Sap Gathering, etc)
  • Join our board (monthly meetings, sit on one or more committees, & support farm governance)
  • Fundraising (sell raffle tickets, soicit business donations
  • Office assistance (answer phones, fold brochures, and answer questions)

 

Groups of 2 to 15

  • Landscaping (raking, cleaning outdoor public areas, pruning)
  • Painting (usually barn red on outdoor structures)
