Spinning Sampler
January 17th, 6:30 – 9:00pm
Ever thought about learning to spin your own yarns but weren’t sure where to start? Come to this introductory class and learn all about the world of spinning that awaits you! This entry level class will introduce students to basic spinning terms and techniques such as ‘drafting’ and ‘carding’. We’ll learn about the endless variety of fibers that exist, how to blend them, and how the spinning process turns them into usable yarn. You’ll have a chance to try spinning a few feet of yarn on a spinning wheel, using a drop spindle, and (once you’re hooked!) take home a list of area resources to continue your new hobby!
