Bike for Bovines & Chicken Run

Every year the Farm hosts a challenging mountain bike race to benefit our education programs. This year we are also offering a 12-mile and a 5k trail run!

Mountain Bike Race

USA Cycling licensed riders $28. Bikers SAVE $5 if pre-registered by Noon  August  22, 2009. Preregister at bikereg.com  All bikers must have a USA Cycling license. Cat 2&3 riders may purchase a $5 One-Day license, Cat-1 and Pro riders must have an Annual License.

Routes

Course Description: The 12-mile trail runners and Cat 1 & 2 bikers race along a challenging track which includes dirt roads, wet bogs, single-track trails and over 2000 total feet of climbing.

See the 12-mile route, with elevation, HERE.

The 12-mile trail runners will run one lap of the route, Cat1 bikers may do more than one lap (TBD).

The Cat 3 bike course is along another route, and is just under 5 miles with a 1 mile climb of around 600 feet.  Some railbed, logging road and singletrack. 

Race-day Activities

Race-day spectator activities include hayrides, kids coloring table, a bouncy house and refreshments. Be sure to check out our grounds, gardens, small animals, hiking trails, dairy barn, farm stand or playground!

Amenitites

  • Water stations for runners located along the course and at the finish line.
  • Medical support available along the course and at the finish line.
  • Volunteers located along the course.
  • Free parking.
  • t-shirts for the first 125 bikers and first 75 runners.
