Saturday, August 1 | 9-12 Children's Activities at the Farmers Market, Sponsored by Stonewall Farm At the Keene Farmer's Market, Gilbo Ave., Keene Chickens! Learn about our feathered friends and their role on the farm. Egg puzzles, egg dissection, and a story! Children and their caretakers can participate in these fun and educational activities. Saturday, August 15 | 11am - 2pm Fun on the Farm: Fairy Houses & Hiking Admission: $5/person, 6 and under $3/person; includes hayride. Build fairy houses with Barry & Tracy Kane, award-winning authors of the "Fairy Houses" series of books and videos. Walk our marked hiking trails to gather materials to build your fairy house; see the fairy houses along the trail. Plus story time, small animal tours, refreshments, hayrides, and the Farm Stand will be open 10am-7pm. Fun Fun Fun! The entire family—all generations—often build together, crafting a fairy village. It is amazing to see how different the houses turn out!
August 23 | Sunday Bike for Bovines & Chicken Run Every year the Farm hosts a challenging mountain bike race to benefit our education programs. This year we are also offering a 5k trail run and challengin 12-mile trail run! If you're a biker, register online at bikereg.com. Runners can download a registration form HERE, or register at Ted's Shoe and Sport in downtown Keene. Complete event information HERE. Friday, November 20, 2008, 5-8PM Saturday, November 21, 9AM-3PM Thanksgiving Farm Fare $1.00 Admission to help with the cost of the event Everyone knows fresh is best when it comes to food, and your Thanksgiving feast is no exception! The annual Thanksgiving Farm Fare held at Stonewall Farm features top-quality locally-produced products and ingredients from over 30 vendors, including the Keene Farmer's Market, for Thanksgiving feasts as well as handmade crafts from local artisans.
Each year the Farm hosts the Fare to support local agriculture and encourage people to buy locally-produced food. This event draws visitors each year to sample a real “taste of the farm,” including locally-raised natural meats, artisan breads, organic vegetables and specialty food products. Juried crafters will also have products available to help you get a jump start on the Holiday season! December 4 | 9:30am-11am Budding Explorers: Meet the Sheep For 3 and 4-year olds. Hot drinks and marshmallows for roasting will be available for purchase. Borrow our snowshoes and explore 130 acres of conservation land. (Limited number available, first-come first-served.) Teams of horses and their drivers come from all over New England to race through our forested trails collecting sap and delivering it to the sugar house. The grace and beauty of the horse teams, the sweet smell of boiling sap, the tantalizing taste of fresh syrup and the first warmth of spring make this an event you won’t want to miss! $5 Admission fee for general public, free for children 6 and under . Stonewall Farm members only $3 plus receive a free hayride!
