Home School Programs

Stonewall Farm is pleased to offer Home School Programs on the first Tuesday of each month.  Our programs run from 9am to 12pm, and we welcome home schoolers from Pre-k to 14 years old.  

Sign up to attend as few or as many programs as you would like.  Programs are $12 for non-members and $10 for members of Stonewall Farm.  Or you can sign up for the full Spring semester of four programs and receive a 10% off of the full price.  Pre-registration is required and spaces are limited so contact us today!  For information or to register call 603-357-7278.

Spring 2012:

March 6: The Science of Sugaring:  Celebrate the maple sugaring season with Stonewall Farm!  Have you ever wondered how trees make sap, who discovered maple syrup, how to identify a sugar maple tree or how the sap turns to syrup?  Students will experience this New England tradition as scientists from start to sweet finish.

April 3: Birds of a Feather.  What makes a bird a bird?  Where and how do they live in the wild and domestically?  What do you need to be a bird watcher?  Students will experience the fascinating scientific world of native birds and get to meet a chicken up close.

 May 1: What to do with all of This Milk?  Visit Stonewall Farm's dairy barn to learn about our new pasteurizer!  Discover how liquid milk turns into cheese and butter.  Students will get to taste some delicious results of our scientific inquiries!

June 5: The Science of Life Under Your Feet.  Learn about soil science, soil mapping and even how people may create a plan for their town base3d on the soil types.  Students will also get a chance to explore the creatures that make the dark earth under your feet their home.
